Quote of the Day
I believe that if we had and would keep our dirty, bloody, dollar-soaked fingers out of the business of these nations so full of depressed, exploited people, they will arrive at a solution of their own -- and if unfortunately their revolution must be of the violent type because the "haves" refuse to share with the "have-nots" by any peaceful method, at least what they get will be their own, and not the American style, which they don't want and above all don't want crammed down their throats by Americans.

Does the Second Amendment Give Individuals the Right to Bear Arms?
Snippet from the story: "Herein lies a trap. If you answer "yes", as might be expected of a supporter of the Second Amendment, then you've agreed that the right to own and carry weapons derives from the Constitution. You have converted a right into a government-granted privilege, which can be taken away from you any time the enemies of liberty wish to to so and have the power to get it done, if only by repealing the amendment in question.
All of your rights are inherent in your existence as a human being.
Never forget that."

Explosives Found in 9/11 Dust
We have discovered distinctive red/gray chips in all the samples we have studied of the dust produced by the destruction of the World Trade Center. Examination of four of these samples, collected from separate sites, is reported in this paper.

Accidental Contamination Of Vaccine With Live Avian Flu Virus Virtually Impossible 050309top
Czech newspapers are questioning if the shocking discovery of vaccines contaminated with the deadly avian flu virus which were distributed to 18 countries by the American company Baxter were part of a conspiracy to provoke a pandemic.
The claim holds weight because, according to the very laboratory protocols that are routine for vaccine makers, mixing a live virus biological weapon with vaccine material by accident is virtually impossible.

The Worst is Yet to Come
"Worst Is Yet to Come:" Americans' Standard of Living Permanently Changed
Posted Feb 17, 2009 12:53pm EST by Aaron Task
There's no question the American consumer is hurting in the face of a burst housing bubble, financial market meltdown and rising unemployment.
But "the worst is yet to come," according to Howard Davidowitz, chairman of Davidowitz & Associates, who believes American's standard of living is undergoing a "permanent change" - and not for the better as a result of:
* An $8 trillion negative wealth effect from declining home values.
* A $10 trillion negative wealth effect from weakened capital markets.
* A $14 trillion consumer debt load amid "exploding unemployment", leading to "exploding bankruptcies."
"The average American used to be able to borrow to buy a home, send their kids to a good school [and] buy a car," Davidowitz says. "A lot of that is gone."
Going forward, the veteran retail industry consultant foresees higher savings rate and people trading down in both the goods and services they buy - as well as their aspirations.
The end of rampant consumerism is ultimately a good thing, he says, but the unraveling of an economy built on debt-fueled spending will be painful for years to come.

Weapons Not Made in Iran Afterall
In a sharp reversal of its longstanding accusations against Iran arming militants in Iraq , the US military has made an unprecedented albeit quiet confession: the weapons they had recently found in Iraq were not made in Iran at all.

EU to Propose $200 bln Climate Tax on Rich Nations
EU to propose $200 bln climate tax on rich nations
Thu Jan 22, 2009 11:13am EST
By Pete Harrison and Gerard Wynn
BRUSSELS/LONDON, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Rich nations could raise $200 billion in climate funds through a levy on their greenhouse gases from 2013-2020 to help poor countries prepare for global warming, the European Union will say next week.
The plan is set out in an EU paper outlining the bloc's position ahead of U.N.-led climate talks in Copenhagen in December, meant to agree a new, global climate treaty.

What are The Odds
Some will argue that the odds of someone shooting you, or the odds of dying from any kind of assault are slim, so carrying a gun is an over-reaction by vigilante wanna-be's. But consider the following odds from the National Safety Council:
* Your odds of drowning in a swimming pool are 1 in 6,279, and society has deemed it "sensible" to place live-saving devices and fences around the pool.
* Your odds of dying riding your bike are 1 in 4,111, and society has deemed it "sensible" to wear a helmet.
* Your odds of dying in a car accident are 1 in 261, and society has deemed it "sensible" to wear a seat belt.
* Your odds of dying from assault are 1 in 210. Why would anyone think it's not "sensible" to have a means of protection?
